QVE's acclaimed candlelight concert series of sacred and reflective music returns to the Basilica, with works by Anúna's Michael McGlynn, Juno-nominated Canadian composer Leonard Enns, Eric Whitacre and others; special appearances by vocal ensembles Afterglow and Table for 6; and Vivaldi's Gloria, with the Holy Heart Chamber Choir and soloists Maria Lacey and Sheilagh Sloan.

JAZZ MASS - NSO Sinfonia #3
QVE is pleased to once again join Jim Duff and the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, for the premiere of Jim Duff's Jazz Mass. The concert will also feature QVE and the NSO performing J.S. Bach's Cantata No. 4, Christ Lag in Todesbanden (Christ Lay in the Bonds of Earth). Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 8 p.m., Arts and Culture Centre. CHORAL 2008
CBC National Radio Competition for Amateur Choirs
QVE has been chosen from a field of 140 choirs across Canada to compete in the National Finals of the biennial CBC Competition. The finals take place on live national radio, with 28 choirs in 10 categories, from eight cities across the country on April 29 and 30, at 7 p.m. (7:30 NT) on CBC Radio 2. QVE sings in the Mixed Adult Choir category on Tuesday, April 29. The performance will be at the Anglican Cathedral and the event is free to the public. Also singing April 29 is Newman Sound Men's Choir in the Equal Voices (Men) category, and on April 30, Lady Cove Women's Choir in the Contemporary Music category. Come out and support the home team! Hosted by On the Go's Ted Blades, join CBC personalities Jacinta Wall, Chris O'Neill Yates, Cecil Haire, Maureen Brosnahan and Krysta Rudofsky for a dramatic reading of this Dickens' Classic.
